The system uses AI to read and extract data from application documents for applications to INTO university partners in the US and UK, and is launching in Australia soon.
“Applications are reviewed and processed within hours, ensuring compliance with admissions standards.
“We provide detailed feedback to students and counsellors, guiding them on application requirements, while also customising the application package to meet the specific needs of each university,” Andy Fawcett, INTO‘s chief technology officer and executive vice president of global admissions told The PIE News.
According to Fawcett, the service is built on INTO’s “robust” AI-technology, running over 60 rules tailored to individual university requirements and notifying agents immediately of missing documents or data.
Early results of the service have seen over 25,000 applications processed so far, with 30% of applications processed within one hour.
“Embracing AI innovations is crucial for universities seeking a competitive edge in the global education market.
“When implemented effectively, AI can provide significant benefits, enabling universities to differentiate their admissions and enrolment propositions, thereby attracting talented international students,” said Fawcett.

Since its inception in 2005, INTO has connected over 150,000 international students from 180 countries with leading universities in the US, the UK and Australia. In May 2024, it launched a new digital and physical service to innovate access to enhanced career opportunities for international students.
The “milestone” 24×7 admissions service includes an online agent portal showing the status of an application, using global admissions information to drive student engagement and improve enrolment yield.
“By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, we are not only streamlining operations but also providing our university partners with invaluable insights to drive student engagement and improve enrolment yield,” said INTO executive vice president for North America Sharon Sundue.
According to Kristin Brymer, director of international admissions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, INTO’s new admission services has significantly improved application turnaround time and efficiency.
“This innovative system enhances our ability to attract and enrol talented international students while ensuring a smooth and compliant admissions process. We are excited about the positive impact it has had on our university’s recruitment efforts and look forward to continued success with INTO’s cutting-edge technology,” said Brymer.
