Though I might be getting a bit ambitious with that list, I’d describe myself as energetic, driven, and dedicated.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy working with young people. Their energy, fresh perspectives, and enthusiasm make the work dynamic and rewarding. Plus, I love the international dimension of my job. It’s exciting to collaborate with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and it truly broadens my perspective on the world.
Best work trip/Worst work trip?
The English UK trip to Muscat was unforgettable because of the amazing country. The exotic locations always make such trips memorable.
Worst: while attending a conference in Switzerland, the guest next to me was a Japanese agent who was convinced there was no country called Georgia. He spent the entire time trying to find it on the map – right next to me!
If you could learn a language instantly, which would you pick and why?
French, so I can understand what my daughters are saying behind my back, as their French is perfect!
What makes you get up in the morning?
Sunshine and the morning workout that’s waiting for me at the gym.
Champion/cheerleader we should all follow and why?
I believe we should follow professionals who are experts in their respective fields, particularly those who remain unbiased and focus on their craft rather than being swayed by political trends or popular fads. It’s important to seek out those who prioritise integrity and knowledge over following the latest trends.
Best international ed conference and why?
Definitely ICEF Berlin, as it gives you the chance to meet so many partners in one space. I’d also recommend BBSW with fam trips, which give you the opportunity to explore boarding schools.
Worst conference food/beverage experience?
As food isn’t my priority while attending conferences, I can’t really point to any specific food or beverage experience as “bad”.
Book or podcast recommendation for others in the sector?
Read as many books as you can – they’re never enough and are an amazing exercise for our brains. As for podcasts, my favorite is The Diary of a CEO, where you can listen to fascinating people from different fields share their insights.
Describe a project or initiative you’re currently working on that excites you.
In recent years, we’ve seen a notable increase in interest surrounding Swiss education. While I prefer to keep the details private for now, we are currently developing an exciting new UK Bridge project that aligns closely with Swiss educational principles.
